Grenache (garnacha) is one of the most widely planted red grape varietals in the world. It originates from Spain, but is also prominent in Southern France and South Australia.
Grenache is often blended but we couldn’t resist showing the beauty of it as a single varietal.
This wine shows red fruit, cherry, white pepper spice and is flinty with chamois tannins. It’s a juicy, modern example of the varietal.
The individual parcel was handpicked, crushed and destemmed with 20% left as whole bunch for carbonic maceration. The remaining ferment was lightly plunged or pumped over morning and night until being pressed off skins. Aged for 8 months in a combination of stainless, and aged barriques to express fruit brightness.
