Mourvèdre is a southern European variety which is also grown in Australia. In Spain the variety is known as Monastrell, in France Mourvèdre and often referred to as Mataro in Australia.
Fermented in open top fermenters and aged minimally before bottling whilst fresh, capturing all the vibrant fruit to be enjoyed now.
We have made this example into a light/medium bodied, early release style. The wine is perfumed with spice and the palate vibrant and full of red berry juiciness. It is made to be enjoyed now and can be served slightly chilled if the weather calls for it!
CELLARING
Delicious to drink now, can be served slightly chilled.
SERVE
This wine would drink well with Asian flavours, think Peking Duck, or BBQ pork. Alternatively, it would pair well with a charcutierie board.
